SEXuality, is it really all about the hooking up?

Submitted by Matthew Eklin

Most of us spend a lot of time thinking about sexuality. We talk, joke and wonder about it – yet we can never find exactly the right words to describe our thoughts, feelings and questions. In this session, we will name and consider some of the mixed messages we get about sexuality, focusing especially on the insights that Catholic Christian spirituality offers. Mary Vaccaro will be giving the presentation on the Christian views.

7pm-8pm in Bukowski Chapel Thursday, November 19

Submitted by Joelle Baldwin

Aquinas College students are invited to study abroad in Fanjeaux, France from May 25-June 11, 2010. Participants will be joining students from other Dominican colleges in taking a three-credit course, France in the Middle Ages. This interdisciplinary course covers French literature, art, architecture and history of the Middle Ages as reflected in Southwester France. The course will consist of morning classes and daily field trips around the Fanjeaux area. Fanjeaux was significant not only from a religious point of view as it was the heart of the Albigensian heresy and St. Dominic lived and worked there for almost ten years, but from an intellectual, artistic and political one as well. Students will visit the area's fortified towns, castles, cathedrals and museums. Additionally, there will be a group excursion to Paris. The cost of the program is $2550 including tuition, excursions, full room & board for 13 days in Fanjeaux, partial board in Paris and a farewell dinner in Paris. Airfare will be arranged for the group and is estimated to be an additional cost of $1200 to $1500. There is a scholarship opportunity for this program sponsored by the Dominican Sisters of Grand Rapids. To apply, please
