Auto-Owners Insurance Company will be holding On-Campus interviews on March 31, 2010 for Associate Programmer career opportunities. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in either Computer Science, IT, IS or Mathematics and is located in Lansing, MI.

Desired skills include the ability to analyze information and logically solve complex problems, as well as the ability to learn and use new programming languages and new software development techniques. Effective communication skills and the ability to work on a team are also a necessity.

All week in the Corner Café you have to opportunity to donate flex cash or real cash toward buying canned food for Baxter Community Center. There will be a marked deposit bin for the cans in the Corner.

On Tuesday, you can travel to Veteran’s Park between 11:15-1PM and help serve lunch to displaced community members. Feel free to bring or make food to bring with you.

On Wednesday, Janay Brower, a member for Coalition to End Homelessness, will be speaking about Homelessness & Sustainability in Wege Ballroom from 12:15-2PM. Free soup and bread will be available!

On Thursday, Lori Fedewa, from GRACE Congregational Partnership Program, will be speaking from 12:15-2PM in Wege Loutit Room.

Also on Thursday, there will be a Hunger Banquet at Knape Hall starting at 6PM. Please join the Social Justice House in support of raising awareness about these social issues. Donations are welcome.

On Friday, you can take a tour of the Heartside District with Dwelling Place Ministries from 11-12:30PM.

Also on Friday, join us in Wege Mall for Habitat for Humanity’s Box City from 7PM-6AM, to raise awareness about what it is like to live homeless. Feel free to bring food to share.

On Saturday, you can sign up to participate in a build for Habitat for Humanity starting at 8AM.

On Sunday, join us in the Moose for “Words Against Hunger,” bringing you two blue-grass bands, and an opportunity to share your own creative pieces from 3-5PM.

We are offering another study group for biology students this semester.  The Biology 160 Study Group will meet on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30 pm in AH 115 beginning next week, March 24 and run through April 28.  All BY 160 students should take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to reinforce course material.

The Aquinas College Dance Team will be hosting another Bake Sale! It will be held in the AB Lobby on both Monday and Tuesday all day! Be sure to bring some cash to class on those days and help support your dance team and their trip to Nationals! We will have A LOT of puppy chow plus plenty of other goodies!

Next Friday will kick off sign-up for the Hunger Walk.

Why should you sign up to walk?? According to a September 2009 United Nations report, “A record level of people are suffering from hunger and food aid is at a 20-year low due to the poor global economy. The result: more than 1 BILLION people across the world will face hunger this year.” That’s why, so walk with us.

See Leah Wagner (St. Joes 215) to sign up and get your walker envelope, so you can walk to serve those in need. Then begin to get donations by inviting family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers to donate whatever they can to help.

***This is also a great way to geat in those pesky service hours all while hanging out with friends with volunteer work available!!!*****
